Lucca is a beautiful city in Tuscany that is completely invaded by comics lovers and cosplays every year, usually for 4 days around the end of October/beginning of November. Lucca hosts Lucca comics, the italian Comic Con.
If you’re a fan of comics, you probably already know or have been to this event, if you’re not…just don’t go to Lucca at this time of the year!
Accomodations are hard to find and extremely overpriced, and, most important, you will not be able to enjoy the beauty of the city at all. All the magnificents squares are replaced by huge stands, you can barely walk in the streets, all you can see is people dressed up as comic heros.
Lucca deserves more than that. You deserves more than that! If you want to discover this beautiful city, avoid the period between mid-September and mid-November (preparation and installations of the stands around the city starts early), you will not regret it.
So, what’s the best time if the year to visit, enjoy and love Lucca? Anytime between mid-November and mid-September!
